Putting Safety First: Funding the Rocket Buoy

The Legacy Engine Safety Initiative (LESI), funded by proceeds from Dr. Thomas McKellips’s book, The Legacy Engine, is dedicated to bridging the equipment gap for volunteer and combination departments. We recognize that budget constraints often prevent departments from acquiring crucial, life-saving tools like the Rocket Buoy.

This grant program utilizes a Sliding Scale Model to ensure that departments with the most critical needs and the tightest budgets can receive the Rocket Buoy with the highest level of subsidy, up to 100% free of charge. Departments with greater financial capacity will be asked to contribute a larger percentage to ensure the fund can help the maximum number of departments nationwide.
